At Makerere College School (MACOS), student leadership is a cornerstone of the institution’s rich legacy. Among the most vibrant events on the school calendar is the Prefects’ Handover Ceremony—a momentous occasion held on the main campus to celebrate the outgoing student cabinet while officially inducting the incoming crop of leaders.
More than just a ceremonial transition, the event highlights MACOS’s commitment to cultivating student governance, accountability, and responsibility.

- Passing of the Symbols: In a symbolic transfer of responsibility, badges, office files, and leadership tools are handed from the outgoing leaders to their successors.
